1992

  • Hanseatic Port Days from August 13th to 16th, 1992
  • Project: "Hospitable Mecklenburgers" launches.
  • During HS 1991, the Hanseatic city of Rostock became a member of the STAG and the world association STA "Sailing Training Association", and the official presentation of the certificate took place at HS 1992.
  • 12 nations, 100 traditional sailing ships and 400 visiting yachts.
  • Opening of the German-American Days in Rostock with a welcome to the participants of Sail COLUMBUS 1992.

1993

  • Hanseatic Port Days from August 12th to 15th, 1993
  • 16 nations and approximately 120 traditional sailing ships.
  • Star sailing ships: Barque TOWARISHTSCH, full-rigged ship MIR and the barkentine POGORIA.
  • Sailing World Championship in the Tempest class off Warnemünde.
  • Choirs from Rostock entertained the guests along with the sailors' choir from Munich and the shanty choirs from Krefeld and Uerdingen.

1994

  • Hanseatic Port Days from August 11th to 14th, 1994
  • 700,000 visitors with star sailors: KRUZENSTERN, EUROPA, FRYDERIK CHOPIN and the vintage yacht FRI from the USA
  • Topic: Youth work under sail
  • Storm gusts of force 9 whipped up the sea off Warnemünde.
  • The Hanse Sail Association was founded on June 3, 1994.
  • There were 12 founding members; Günther Senf was elected as the first chairman and Peter Rath as the second chairman.
