- 13th Hanse Sail from August 7th to 10th, 2003
- 170 ship attendants look after the well-being of the crews; the volunteer helpers are 17-75 years old and communicate with the international guests in 8 languages, a record since 1191.
- A highlight of the Hanse Sail was the parallel IGA with its floating gardens, a green world exhibition by the sea, where 30 nations presented themselves.
- Two four-masted barques were admired at the pier in Warnemünde: the SEDOV and the KRUZENSHTERN. Together, the two ships have a length of 242 meters, 8 masts, and a sail area of 7600 square meters.
