  • 14th Hanse Sail from August 5th to 8th, 2004
  • A magnificent ship, the SHTANDART, a replica of the 17th-century frigate, is visiting.
  • The association is celebrating its 10th anniversary; the booking center reports: 1 million EUR per year in brokered trips on the traditional ships, an important basis for the existence of the traditional ships.
  • The association produces printed materials for Sail and organizes half a dozen exhibitions annually with painters, sculptors and photographers from the coast.

2005

  • 15th Hanse Sail from August 11th to 14th, 2005
  • Roland Methling, long-time head of the Hanse Sail office, will become mayor of the Hanseatic city of Rostock.
  • He will be musically prepared for his new office by the shanty choir "De Klaashahns".
  • The Hanse Sail Express will be the longest and fastest advertising train of the Sail; the InterConnex transports approximately 350,000 passengers per year; its christening took place on April 13, 2005, on platform 9 of Rostock Central Station with a ship's bell, sparkling wine, and godparents.
